Don't Let the Cat Out...No Matter What He Tells You
Times and Locations For This Event
I will be discussing the importance of keeping your cat indoors. Including the effect on the local environment and wildlife. I will also discuss the number of stray cats that are turned into the humane society each year and the effect that has on your community. Many native species are effected and driven from thier natural habitats. Cats can destroy plants, gardens, soil, water sources, and spread disease. I will give examples of each. There are mand safe and humane deterrents to keep cats out of your yards. There are also many ways to keep your cat inside where he belongs. I will have a brief slideshow about these topics and have time for a Q&A session along with how you can help support your local humane society.
I have worked for the Lakeland Animal Shelter for 10 years. For the last 3, as an Animal Caretaker and the past 7 as the Fundraising Director and Volunteer Coordinator. In addition to my hands - on experience with the homeless animals of Walworth County, I am also the Sole Proprietor for my pet sitting business, Wags 2 Whiskers. I have seen thousands of anmimals come into the shelter and have also experienced the impact they have on the environment. I have lived in Delavan for 3 years with my husband, Adam, and my 11 month old son, Aaron, along with 2 dogs, Gia and Lambeau, and 3 cats, Monkey, Dulce, and Moxie. I care about sustainable living for people and animals.
